Concept/Mood for Storyboarding

Here are some of the moods I'm trying out for Hans Bacher's storyboard class. Its for a piece of music by the Beatles' "Penny Lane". This is my version of Penny Lane... These are just quick and rough blocks of colors I had in mind.

The character was supposedly walking on a lane, stepped on a puddle and ended up in an underwater pathway.

What a fun class with our teacher, Ishu Patel! If you don't know him, you better wiki him or something, he's the master of stop motion, his paper stop motions are great! One of those Legends~ Hehe This is done as an excercise, when we're given a set of rules, "Move a square across the page", you can do anything with the square as long as you moved it across the page!

Done traditionally with a camera, it pushes my creativity with so many ways you could come up with with just a square! Enjoy!

Have been inspired by the old story "The Secret Garden" recently, and quite influenced by musicals like "Tanz Der Vampire", so most of the sketches looked abit gothic *note the images from the bottom onwards. I hope i could try to develop these in color soon :)

Concepts for new project

Concept sketches for our (Me & Ana) project... The project is basically a book about a traveling magic candy seller (story still workin on it!).
Here are the vehicle designs, 2 currently, will upload more Hehehe~ Finally decided that the vehicle had abit of a 'gentlemen' + 'steam punk' look! Ahhh, gotta do more sketches! Other than the vehicle, I also came up an idea on how the candy was made, apparently this wasn't complicated enough so will be working more on it now onwards! Its actually divided to the 'Flavour department' & the 'magic department', both are then combined and formed into one candy! LOLx.... My brain went abit "Gah gah" after that~

This is the second page, supposed to connect the the first part of the page~ Lolx, the making of a simple magic candy needs alot of equipment (that's why its 3 pages long haha)...

Quick violet sketch

Did a quick one today, apparently not quick enough! Gotta brush up my speed...
There's not much detail just a rough color idea, perhaps will continue the picture one day (when i felt so Lolx~...)
I'm using the blog to force myself to practice more (Hahaha~) So gotta upload more! Initial idea is 'Alice' from wonderland... But as i change the color to violet n purples... well i think it went on to something else... Hahaha, but i'm glad i made an upload today! Hehehe... :)

The teddybear tree

Its finally done!
Heard Anastasia telling me a story her brother and her made up about a boy and his teddybear. Can't remember the entire story in detail but this picture is the scene I pictured in my mind.
Apparently, something happened to the teddybear (the boy's mother threw it out) and the strings and bits of the bear started to sprout from the earth. The tree then flowered and a teddybear appeared from it... Hahaha Here is how I imagined it....

I did alot of cross hatching on this image... Phew!

Was inspired by a french fairytale called 'Princess Rosette' written by Madame d' Aulnoy (go read it in wikipedia if ya wanna know more bout the story) and thought of doing an image of the character, currently there's only the sketchy line work, but I'm going to color it soon... Yes soon! Lolx...
